Saltine Cracker Toffee

Saltine Cracker Toffee

I didn't invent Saltine Cracker Toffee and I'm not sure who did but what I do know is it's ahaaaammmmmazzzing! If you haven't tried this salty, sweet, crunchy toffee, you should.

Saltine Cracker Toffee

Ingredients
2 sleeves (almost) of saltine crackers
1 stick butter
1 cup dark brown sugar

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

2. Line cookie sheet with saltine crackers in single layer.

3. In a saucepan combine the sugar and the butter. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Immediately pour over saltines and spread over crackers completely.

4. Bake at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes. Spread melted chocolate with spatula and top with more saltine crackers (Just crumble in your hand and sprinkle over the top) while the chocolate is still sticky.

5. Place the entire pan of toffee in the refrigerator to set the toffee and chocolate for about 30 minutes. Once set, break into uneven pieces by hand, and enjoy! Store any uneaten saltine toffee in an airtight container for up to a week. You can also store in the fridge.
