What can I sell in my shop?
Please read the Lilyshop Do’s and Don'ts page.
Can I customize my shop?
Yes. Every shopkeeper has the ability to customize his or her storefront with a banner upload. When you sign into your Lilyshop account go to Your Lilyshop > Shop Settings > Info & Appearance > Upload/Edit Banner. To add a descriptive paragraph to your shop go to Your Lilyshop > Shop Settings > Info & Appearance > Profile Info. You will also have access to your own personal blog (which is also under Your Lilyshop). You can post about what new products you have, or any promotions you are having within your shop. You can post about anything really! Well anything that falls within our Do's and Don'ts : )
We are sorry but we do not allow user-generated HTML in shops.
Can I have more than one shop?
Yes, you can.
Can more than one person operate a shop?
Yes. However there can only be one name in the registration so the person who registers the Lilyshop account will be held responsible for all activity, content and fees associated with the account. Lilyshop will not mediate disputes between people using the same account.
How many items can I list in my shop?
As may as you want. There is no limit and there are no listing fees.
What are shop sections?
Shop sections are an easy way to organize product listings. With shop sections shoppers will be able to browse more efficiently (just like aisles in a supermarket). Your sections are displayed as links in the left sidebar of your shop. You may have up to 10 custom shop sections. To create these sections go into your dash under "Shop Sections" and from there you can add and delete items from your sections.
What is a CSV file transfer?
The Lilyshop CSV file transfer is to be used when duplicating your listed items on Etsy and transferring them to Lilyshop. Now let's get this clear. We love Etsy. We buy from Etsy. And by offering this tool, in no way are we trying to "steal" you away from Etsy. We offer free listings at Lilyshop so you can sell here, there, and everywhere else as far as we're concerned. The more the merrier.
To upload your CSV file you must go into your Lilyshop dashboard under Manage Your Shop >Import Items
I am using the CSV file transfer but my files are not transferring from Etsy?
Check 1: Make sure the file you exported from Etsy was saved as a .csv file. If you did this and then reopened this file in a spreadsheet application such as Excel, you may have re-saved your file in .xls and not realized it. Make sure your file name ends in .csv
Check 2: Make sure the .csv file is not too large. The importer will not work if it contains more than 150 records. If you have more than 150 items to import from Etsy divide your .csv data file into multiple smaller files in a program like Excel and import them separately. To do this, you must follow the steps below:
1. Open your .csv file in Excel.
2. Use the ‘Save As’ command to create a duplicate of this exact file. Save this duplicate with another name like "EtsyListings1" and save it to your desktop so you can easily find it.
3. Delete enough records from this new file so there are no more than 150 records on it.
4. Press 'Save' again and make sure you are saving it as .csv
5. Now open your original file that you exported from Etsy and use the ‘Save As’ command again and rename it ‘EtsyListings2′ and save it to your desktop so you can easily find it.
6. Now this time, you will delete the records that you KEPT in ‘EtsyListings1′. Delete all of those as well as any that exceed 150 listings again.
7. Press 'Save' again and make sure you are saving it as .csv
8. If You should now have two different CSV files. Repeat this process until you have all of your records saved in files that are 150 records or less in size.
9. Now use the Lilyshop importer to transfer your listings. Yay! We are happy to have you on Lilyshop.
Check 3: If the .csv file you exported was opened in an application such as Excel after you exported it from Etsy it may have become corrupt, or damaged without you realizing it. To fix this you must return to Etsy and export the data again, and create an entirely new data file and save it in the .csv format. Then go from there directly to Lilyshop to upload your items.
* If you continue to have problems importing your data from Etsy, please contact Lilyshop Support.
How do I price my products in my shop?
Deciding on the right price for your products is up to you. Keep a few things in mind while deciding on pricing. If you overcharge people will not buy, but if you undercharge you will not make a profit. Here are some quick tips:
1. Calculate the price of all your raw materials (Ex. If you are selling a necklace be sure to calculate the price of every bead, the string or chain the beads are hanging on, and the clasp).
2. Add in the cost of your overhead. The cost of your taxes, rent, maybe you are renting a machine to help you make a your product. Do you have anyone helping you, etc.
3. You also need to add in your hourly rate. If you were working for someone what would your hourly wage be? Multiply that amount by however many hours it takes you to make this product and add it to the two previous steps above.
4. You should now know what it costs you to manufacture your product. It is now up to you to decide what percentage you want to make above this cost. If your product is in high demand and short supply you may want to charge more and make a greater profit. Also, keep in mind if there are many listings that contain a similar product, you may want to list your product at market price so you are competitive.
I opened my shop but my product won't upload?
You are not allowed to upload products if your shop is incomplete. In order to complete your shop you must fill out all the sections under the policies tab in your dashboard as well as the info and appearance tab.
How do I edit my item(s)?
Click on Your Lilyshop and you will see all your items listed on your page. Click on the blue edit box to edit your listings and click on the tabs to view the different sections you can edit.
How do I take better photos of my products?
1. Lighting is very important in photography. Take photos outside for best lighting. If the light is just so-so expect mediocre photos. The light in your house will change all the time so you may want to try photographing in the morning and afternoon to see what's better. Also, make sure your direct light is behind you when you photograph. If you shoot into the light your item will be dark and have a shadow.
2. Keep it simple. Try to photograph your product by itself. The more stuff in the picture the more cluttered the photograph will look. The buyer wants to see the product, not all the clutter around it. It's OK to have a prop or two but don't overdo it.
3. Make sure your item looks good. If you are selling clothing, iron it. If you are selling food, make it fresh. If you are selling jewelry invest in a display piece so it looks professional. Look at ads in magazines for ideas. You get the point.
4. Take multiple photos from multiple angels. Some angels may provide better light or better color. Move to the right, to the left, up and down. Take overhead shots.Try all sides.
5. Edit your photos before uploading them to your shop. This is a very important step. Crop the photos to get rid of any unwanted clutter in the background.
Image Sizing on Lilyshop - What Pixel Sizes should my photos be?
Thumbnails on Lilyshop are a 75 x 75 pixel square and gallery images are 170 x 135 pixels or 155 x 125 pixels, depending where they are used on the site. Your original image will be cropped for at least one of those views. We crop from the center point of the image. For best results, try to keep the most interesting or important part of your item centered in the image. Your entire photo will only show in full on the item listing page in your shop.
Quick Sizing Guide:
Shop Banner: 760 x 100
Profile Image: 75 x 75
Gallery Pictures: 570 x Whatever length (570x450 is best for correct thumbnail viewing)

Transactions on Lilyshop.com
For the Buyer
Lilyshop is a venue, NOT a retailer. Lilyshop's purpose is to connect a buyer and seller. When you place any order on Lilyshop, you will be entering into a direct transaction with an individual seller (facilitated by Lilyshop). The two parties are expected to independently work through their transaction and complete the transaction.
All buyer questions regarding goods or transactions, including payment arrangements and cancellations, should be directed to the seller. All sellers should keep records regarding proof of shipping. It is to your advantage to track each package you ship.
A seller may cancel or void a transaction and even refuse service to a buyer. You must read each seller's shipping policies in their profile before buying.
Buyers must pay the seller directly. Do not send payment to Lilyshop.
Buyers must pay promptly at the time the transaction, according to transaction agreement and the terms in the seller's Shop Policies.
All buyers must submit shipping, billing and payment information to the seller, according to transaction agreement or the terms in the Lilyshop seller's Shop Policies.
If there is a dispute concerning the return of an item(s), the buyer may be asked to provide Lilyshop with proof of shipping back to the seller. Lilyshop will not hold the buyer responsible for postal or shipping service delays or errors, theft or customs delays when returning items to the seller.
For the Seller
Sellers must sell the item(s) to the buyer with whom the original transaction is made.

All buyers must pay at the time the transaction is created or according to the transaction agreement between buyer and seller.

Buyers may contact email@example.com if this occurs and all sellers should keep records regarding proof of shipping. (It is important to track your packages) Buyers are to submit fair, honest feedback for sellers in a non-delivery circumstance. A buyer who paid a seller using PayPal may have a limited time frame in which to file a claim for refund of purchase under PayPal's policies.
Sellers must ship goods within a reasonable amount of time or according to an agreement between buyer and seller.
Sellers must respond to a non-delivery report by contacting Lilyshop. A non-delivery report cannot be closed until the seller contacts Lilyshop.
The seller may be asked to provide Lilyshop with proof of shipping in the event of a dispute.
Any seller who fails to ship a sold item may be suspended. Suspended or terminated members must still pay Lilyshop for all unpaid fees.
If a seller cannot ship a particular item(s) or fullflil an order they can refuse service as listed below.
Seller must notify the buyer of refusal of service through Lilyshop email.

Sellers must accurately describe their items in the listings to avoid misrepresentation.
Sellers must comply with the terms they set forth in the seller's Shop Policies.
If a buyer receives a product that is significantly different from the original listing, the buyer may contact Lilyshop support to report that the item is not as described in the original listing. Lilyshop charges fees to sellers for use of Lilyshop's services. Sellers agree to complete valid transactions and pay Lilyshop fees in full monthly. Only the seller in a transaction may cancel the transaction. The buyer should contact the seller by Lilyshop email to request cancellation of a transaction. The buyer may contact firstname.lastname@example.org if the seller does not respond to a request to cancel a transaction.
The seller may not cancel a transaction for the purpose of avoiding fees or feedback.

The buyer did not have funds at the time the transaction was created, according to the transaction agreement or according to the terms in the seller's Shop Policies.
Both the buyer and seller agree to cancel the transaction prior to shipment. If the buyer has already paid, the seller has refunded buyer (price paid for item plus shipping).
The seller has refused service to the buyer. If the buyer has already paid, the seller has refunded the buyer (price paid for item plus shipping).
The buyer paid for the item(s). Although the seller shipped the item(s), the buyer did not receive the item(s). The seller has refunded the buyer (price paid for item at minimum).
Members who abuse the privilege to cancel transactions may be subject to suspension of account privileges and/or termination of their Lilyshop account. Suspended or terminated members remain obligated to pay Lilyshop for all unpaid fees.

Flagging on Lilyshop
Use the "Report this item to Lilyshop" link on the bottom of any item listing page. This is a confidential process. The member whose listing is reported will not know who flagged it. No, you are not actually charged this money. You may see a $1.02 or $2.02 authorization test on your statement, but this will be removed once the card has been validated. We must do this to make sure there is in fact a real credit card on file.
What if I have a question about my bill?

Curate a front page for Lilyshop. Have fun, be creative and feel free to add your own item. If we use your curation we will let you know by posting your curation and adding a link to your shop directly above it on the homepage. Please read the Do's and Don'ts in our help section regarding curations.
How to Make a Curation
1. Browse products on Lilyshop. When you see something you love click on the add to curation link to the LEFT of the image. This will bring up a box that will ask if you would like to add the item to an already existing curation or create a new curation. Choose create a new curation. The first item will now be added to your new curation.
2. Now enter your curation title (example: Rainy Day Blues)
3. Next you must describe what your curation is about in the description section. Keep it fun and simple.
4. Now choose if you want your curation to be public or private. If you choose public everyone on Lilyshop will be able to view your curation and we may also choose to use it on the homepage. If your curation is private then only you can view it.
5. Press save. After you save your first curation you can continue to browse the site looking for more items to add to your curation.
What is Combined Shipping? (Aka: Shipping with another item)
When a shopper purchases multiple items from your shop at one checkout you may specify a special shipping cost so they receive a discounted shipping price. Combined Shipping has two elements that you must enter on all listings: Primary shipping costs and additional shipping costs. The primary shipping cost is the value of shipping the item alone. The additional shipping cost is the added value when items are purchased and shipped together ("if shipped with another item").
If you don't want to offer a discounted combined shipping rate, just enter the same amount for the primary and secondary shipping costs.
If you want additional items to ship at no extra charge, enter $0.00 as the secondary shipping cost. This means that the first item sold will be shipped at the first full price and anything purchased during the same checkout will be shipped at no additional charge.
Here is an example of how combined shipping works:
Item A: Green Necklace
Primary shipping cost = $3.00
Additional shipping cost = $1.00
Item B: Yellow Necklace
Primary shipping cost = $3.00
Secondary shipping cost = $1.50
If both necklaces (Item A and Item B) are purchased together, the total combined shipping cost to the buyer is $4.50. This is the greater primary shipping cost of the two items (Item A: $3.00) plus the secondary shipping cost of the other item (Item B: $1.50).
Insuring Your Shipped Items
In the event there is an issue with shipping one of your items to your customer, shipping insurance will help to eleviate some of the issues and protect you, the seller. Purchasing insurance on your packages can be done so through your local post office, as well as UPS and Fed-Ex. Consider purchasing insurance on more expensive items, or adding a small amount to each item cost so if a package gets lost, you have a fund that will cover your lost or damaged product. Third-party services like PayPal also offer protection policies for sellers if certain criteria are met in the event of a delivery dispute.
USPS Mailing Guidelines
Canada Post Shipping Guidelines
The yard sale is open every week from midnight Thursday to midnight Sunday. In order for your shop items to be eligible for the yard sale they must be listed in your shop for a minimum of 7 days at a constant price. Once an item has been listed for 7 or more days at a constant price, you can enter the item into the yard sale. Edit Your Item will prompt you to enter the item into the 25%, 30%, or 50% bucket. You do not need to adjust your price, Lilyshop will automatically do the price adjustment for you. If your item does not sell by midnight Sunday it will be reposted in the next yard sale. You may delete your item from the yard sale at anytime. All yard sale items can be managed in Current Yard Sale Items. Good luck!
How do I open a PayPal account?
To get started with PayPal as a Lilyshop shopkeeper, you will need to go to http://www.paypal.com and register. Shopkeepers are encouraged to sign up for a Premier or Business account, not a Personal account for two reasons: personal accounts are subject to receiving limits every month, and personal accounts cannot accept payments from buyers that are funded by a credit card. There are only slight differences between Premiere and Business PayPal accounts.
Here is a table explaining the differences between Personal, Premier and Business PayPal accounts:
|Personal Account||Premier Account||Business Account|
|Registration Steps||Collection of personal information||Collection of personal information||Collection of personal and business information|
|Limits on Payment Receiving||Limit varies but is typically $500 per month||No set limit||No set limit|
|Payment Types Accepted||Account balance and bank transfers||Account balance, bank transfers and credit cards||Account balance, bank transfers and credit cards
