Revamping the Paper Bag
Wedding Season is here! How chic are these favor bags? I think it's important to hand make as much as possible when planning a wedding. It not only saves money, but it adds that personal touch to the special day and it also gets everyone involved. These DIY wedding bags look like a million bucks, but they are super easy and I promise, even the "DIY" challenged can do it! Fill them with little candies or even petals to throw on the bride and groom as they walk down the aisle.
If you have never embossed anything before it's super easy and it makes everything look fabulous! All you need is a clear stamp pad and any stamp. Then you will need to invest in an embossing heat gun and some powder.
This is the Lace Starburst Rubber stamp I used from Paper Source: Lace Stamp
Using the Lace stamp, stamp your design on your bag with the clear ink pad. Pour the embossing powder over the wet stamped print. Just like you would glitter you know? Use your finger to flick the bag to get any extra powder off the bag. The powder should only be stuck to the design. Now place your heat gun a couple inches away from your bag and slowly melt the embossing powder. It will get all shiny and pretty like this. It looks wet, but it's not. It just looks that cool. You can use any powder but I choose black on black because I thought it looked super chic.
I used the same technique on the tags. I embossed with the Happily Ever After Stamp and white embossing powder. I went the extra mile and used a little Mod Podge on the edges of the tags and sprinkled the black glitter on top.
I would pair these beautiful bags with these super chic glitter dipped Mason jars!
